Program faculty win prestigious Scott Myers Award from SIOP

Congratulations to faculty members Harold Goldstein, Charles Scherbaum, and Elliott Larson -- along with Rachel Ryan (American Express Company) and Kenneth Yusko (University of Maryland) -- for winning the 2021 M. Scott Myers Award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology for Applied Research in the Workplace. This is the most prestigious practice award in the field.


The award recognizes the development of the NFL Player Assessment Test, which is designed to predict performance while improving diversity, equity and inclusion in selection decisions in professional sports.

Albert Zhou is awarded major grant from the National Science Foundation

Zhiqing (Albert) Zhou has received a 2-year grant in the amount of $172,000 from the National Science Foundation. His proposal, written in collaboration with Chenwei Liao ( Michigan State University) and Songqi Liu (Georgia State University) was titled: “Collaborative Research: Leader Behaviors and Experiences across Life Domains.” Congratulations Albert!

Joshua Nagel wins Abraham Briloff Prize in Ethics for best student paper

Congratulations to Joshual Nagel for receiving the Abraham Briloff Prize in Ethics for his paper entitled: “When do stretch goals, outcome framing, and incentive structures lead to unintended consequences? Doctoral student Vivian Chou and colleagues receive the Adverse Impact Reduction Research Initiative and Action (AIRRIA) Research Grant from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology

V. Chou, P. Hanges, C., Scherbaum, & J. Epistola are awarded AIRRIA grant for their project entitled: “Using Neurocognitive Methods to Understand Sources of Adverse Impact on Cognitive Ability Tests.”

Baruch Researchers Receive Innovation in Assessment Award from the International Personnel Assessment Council
